LDHA

4TH of July Celebration

What could be more fun than starting off our nation’s birthday celebration with the children’s parade, followed by sharing food and conversation with neighbors at the beach?  Throw in some games, the Commodore’s Cup Boat Parade, canoe races and fireworks and you’ve got all the ingredients for a great holiday at Lake Doster!

Schedule of Events

11:45 AM   Parade participants plan to gather at the corner of Horseshoe Court &   S. Lake Doster. Decorate your bikes, wagons, scooters & golf carts.

NOON       Let the parade begin! Bring your patriotic spirit to cheer the kids on.

12:30 PM    Games to follow the parade.

1:00 PM      Food is served at the beach.  This year’s menu includes:  hot dogs, sausage, chips and cold drinks.  Yum!

2:00 PM      Canoe races.  (Canoes are needed.  Call Nancy Gregory(685-5032),     if you can bring your canoe to this event.)

2:30 PM      Hoist your anchors, Mateys!  The Commodore’s Cup boat parade theme will be Pirates of the Caribbean. Yo, ho, ho! If it floats, it’s a boat!

We will need about 30 volunteers to make this event a success.  Volunteers are needed for the following:

è     Set up

è     Cooks

è     Parade Marshall

è     Servers

è     Children’s games

Text Box: Dear Neighbors,

Again this year, Don Meitz will purchase fireworks for the magnificent display on the fourth of July. Last year we were able to raise funds to help defray the "sky-rocketing" cost. We are asking that you send a thank you check to Don and Diane so that this tradition can continue. Show your support and mail them a check made out to Don Meitz, 155 S. Lake Doster Dr. This will show your appreciation for his efforts. In this way we can all enjoy the wonderful show he provides on the 4th.
Thank you,

Sandy Kern
